When used as a stand-alone treatment, microneedling improves the appearance of lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and skin laxity. When combined with protein-rich plasma (PRP), results appear faster, and skin has a healthy vibrance.
What is Microneedling with PRP?
Microneedling creates tiny areas of micro-damage in the skin. This mobilizes the surrounding cells to send out repair and healing signals. At Robertson Wellness and Aesthetics, we combine microneedling with several other treatment options, including PRP. Taken from your own blood cells before treatment, PRP enhances the results of microneedling by speeding up the healing process, encouraging collagen growth, and improving the health of the skin. Because microneedling provides long-lasting results, it offers a cost-efficient method of skin rejuvenation.
How Does Microneedling with PRP Work?
Microneedling uses tiny needles that create micro-channels in the skin. These tiny areas of damage signal the cells around them to begin a process of repair and healing. This process also stimulates the growth of collagen, a critical part of the skin’s support structure. The new collagen will tighten skin, improve lines and wrinkles, and improve skin tone.
When adding PRP to microneedling, a small amount of your blood will have its plasma separated from the blood cells. This plasma contains large amounts of platelets, proteins that respond to injury and stimulate the repair process. After you have microneedling, the PRP is applied to the skin, allowing it to enter the micro-channels and work on deeper levels of the skin. PRP adds powerful healing and restoration to the microneedling treatment, reducing inflammation and stimulating intensive collagen production.
How Much is Microneedling?
At Robertson Wellness and Aesthetics, we offer several different microneedling variations to meet your treatment needs best. While prices will vary, they will include:
Microneedling with PRP:
only 1 area = $1000
add 2nd area = $500
add 3rd area = $40
Microneedling with Human Growth Factor: $700
Laser Genesis for Facial Treatment: $500
add neck treatment = $150
Nanoneedling Facial Treatment: $250

What Results Will I See With Microneedling with PRP?
Most people will need several treatments to achieve their best results. More intensive skin concerns might require extra treatment to get maximum improvement. Most patients have three treatments spaced about four weeks apart. Your results will continue to develop for up to six months as the cells continue to add more collagen. By speeding healing, PRP can make any minor side effects go away more quickly and can even decrease the number of treatments you will need. Maintaining these results may take one or two treatments per year, making it less expensive than many other skin rejuvenation options.
Is There Any Downtime With Microneedling with PRP?
You can resume normal activities after treatment. You may notice some redness and swelling, but this has usually faded within one to four days. PRP can reduce the duration of any symptoms and help you heal faster.
Am I a Good Candidate for Microneedling with PRP?
Most people make good candidates for microneedling with PRP. People with acne can have this treatment and may see significant improvements. Pregnant women and people who take certain medications may not be good candidates.
