WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS
See full prescribing information for complete boxed warning.
In rodents, semaglutide causes dose-dependent and treatment-duration-dependent thyroid C-cell tumors at clinically relevant exposures. It is unknown whether Semaglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans as human relevance of semaglutide-induced rodent thyroid C-cell tumors has not been determined
Semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Counsel patients regarding the potential risk for MTC with the use of Wegovy® and inform them of symptoms of thyroid tumors (e.g. a mass in the neck, dysphagia, dyspnea, persistent hoarseness). Routine monitoring of serum calcitonin or using thyroid ultrasound is of uncertain value for early detection of MTC in patients treated with Semaglutide
Semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with MEN 2, and in patients with a prior serious hypersensitivity reaction to semaglutide or to any of the excipients in Semaglutide. Serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis and angioedema, have been reported with Semaglutide.
Disclaimer: Prescription products are only available if prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider after consultation. Individual results may vary and are not guaranteed. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are compounded products and have not been approved by the FDA. The FDA does not verify the safety or effectiveness of compounded drugs.
WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS
Tirzepatide may cause tumors in the thyroid, including thyroid cancer. Watch for possible symptoms, such as a lump or swelling in the neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. If you have any of these symptoms, tell your healthcare provider.
Tirzepatide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Counsel patients regarding the potential risk of MTC and symptoms of thyroid tumors (4, 5.1).
Do not use Tirzepatide if you or any of your family have ever had a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
Do not use Tirzepatide if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
Do not use Tirzepatide if you have had a serious allergic reaction to Tirzepatide.
